Vienna’s Stadtpark, Austria’s first public park
“Flowers are restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflicts.” - Sigmund Freud.

Vienna’s Stadtpark [1862] above, its central park and Austria’s first public park, lies just one mile from Bergasse 19. For 78 years, from 1860 to 1938, Freud lived in Vienna and walked here. Analysis, the public park and the reclining couch connect at their cores. Humanists in big cities designed all three, to allow fellow humans to rest and renew.
